I’m not the only pasta lover in my house who’s excited by the arrival of our Pasta Friday cookbook! I strongly urge everyone to grab a copy of this book. Ms. Arevalo is an amazing chef and writer. Her recipes, along with the concept of gathering every Friday with friends and family for pasta dinner, are nothing short of brilliant. I particularly love the advice she imparts from her own mistakes, her wine pairings, conversions and very down-to-earth, warm style of writing. The recipes are mouth-watering and I can’t wait to make them all.

This book is more than recipes on paper, it is more of a story and way of life where you can relate to the author. Allison writes of her own memories and traditions as well as sharing her expertise with each delicious recipe. She reminds us of our own family traditions and encourages us to create and continue traditions with our family and friends. I can’t wait to make these dishes and connect with my circle and beyond. There is no shortage of recipes as there is a pasta recipe for every week of the year with salads and wine pairings for each season. And the visuals on the pages are gorgeous, everything looks so delicious. My youngest teenage daughter was flipping through the pages and commented how good everything looked. Highly recommend for pasta, salad and wine lovers!!!

Thank you to books-for-everyone.com and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Allison Arevalo’s The Pasta Friday Cookbook is a delicious book filled with easy-to-follow recipes, bright pictures, and great tips for creating a new and fun tradition.
I love eating pasta so this cookbook is right up my alley! I had no idea that pasta could be so exciting! Did you know that there are pastas made with strawberries? And that there are balsamic pearls for your salad? I didn’t!
This original cookbook is more than just a great collection of pasta and salad recipes. Arevalo includes helpful tips on creating fuss-free Pasta Friday dinners which combines food, friends, and family into a wonderful tradition. I appreciate her tips on scaling up the recipes as well as her suggestions on pasta essentials like cheese and tomatoes. I love the inclusion of wine pairings as well as options to change the pasta.
Most of the recipes begin with great and succinct anecdotes. Arevalo’s writing style is simple and approachable. The recipes are clear and easy-to-follow. They range from simple fare to complicated dishes featuring numerous specialty ingredients. However, Arevalo offers many substitutes for hard to find items to help make your pasta adventures as uncomplicated as possible. I haven’t made anything yet but I can’t wait to hover over the pot devouring Bavette with Fiery Shrimp or try to impress my friends with Stefania’s Paccheri Fragola with Mozzarella and Crispy Basil.
Sara Remington’s lovely pictures nicely fit the book. I like that there are both food pictures and pictures of happy guests at Arevalo’s dinners. However, I wish the pictures were more interesting. Pictures of the more unusual pastas like strozzapreti and casarecce would nicely enhance this book. I also wish that the page design was livelier and warmer considering the book’s focus on family, friendship, and togetherness.
The Pasta Friday Cookbook is perfect for those who love eating and entertaining and anyone who’s looking to start a new tradition.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Who doesn’t like pasta?
17 September 2019 – Published on books-for-everyone.com
Pasta Friday was originally the author’s way to gather friends, family, and neighbours together for pasta and salad at the end of the work week. The evening at her home was a casual and supportive, and from those experiences grew The Pasta Friday Cookbook.
The cookbook is filled with ideas for creating your own Pasta Friday – whether it be just for your family or for a larger group. It includes information on how to prepare, the ingredients to have on hand and how to increase your recipes to feed a crowd.
Organised by seasons, the recipes also include wine pairings, the type of pasta appropriate for each recipe, and suggested condiments (pepper flakes, bread crumbs, etc) that can be served with the meal. Salad recipes are also included with each season. While not every recipe is accompanied by a photograph, the photos that are included are enticing.
This is a very specific cookbook but it should appeal to any cook who is looking for a variety of pasta dishes and how to serve them
Many thanks to the, publisher books-for-everyone and the author for providing a copy of this book for review.
